I posted this yesterday, that I need to modernize an Ancient Greek myth.

bobpursely replied with an idea that I could do the Siren sisters as cheerleaders, but I couldn't find a myth about them, they're in two different myths.

Like I've been thinking of myths such as Hercules's 12 labours or Pandora's box, but I can't figure out how to modernize elements such as the box itself and the 12 labours themselves.

We really can't help you with that because it's kind of something you have to think up for yourself. Pick a myth you know well, analyze it, and brainstorm (A LOT). The best thing to do would be to write down what the myth is about and analyze its important elements and think how those elements relate to real life. Myths often contain life lessons, lessons that are still useful today.

Like, i'm having trouble modernizing the main part of the myth.

Like how can I modernize something like King Midas's golden touch?

looking for help must find the subject, verb and adjective
The water main runs through the main street of town.

Alrite I have an idea that the modern Midas finds an illegal way to make money and that backfires when he loses everything by getting caught.

Can anyone give me some feedback and help me elaborate on this?

That sounds as if it'd work.

You could also make up a "Bill Gates" kind of guy -- and everything goes to pieces when the company loses lawsuit after lawsuit.

To modernize an ancient Greek myth, you can follow these steps:

1. Choose a myth: Select a Greek myth that you find interesting and have a good understanding of its key elements. This will be the basis for your modernization.

2. Analyze the myth: Break down the myth and identify its important elements, such as characters, events, and themes. Take note of any life lessons or messages the myth conveys.

3. Relate to real life: Think about how the elements of the myth can be translated into a modern setting. Consider how the characters and events can be relevant to present-day circumstances or issues.

4. Brainstorming: Generate ideas by brainstorming how you can incorporate modern elements into the myth. Think about how technology, social media, or contemporary challenges can be integrated into the story.

For example, let's take the myth of King Midas's golden touch. The traditional myth tells the story of King Midas, who is granted the ability to turn everything he touches into gold. However, this blessing quickly turns into a curse as everything, including his loved ones, turns to gold.

To modernize this myth, you can consider a scenario where the modern Midas finds an illegal way to make vast amounts of money, such as through a fraudulent scheme. At first, he enjoys the wealth and prestige, but eventually, his actions catch up with him, and he loses everything when he gets caught and faces severe consequences.

This modernization reflects the idea of pursuing material wealth at any cost and the negative consequences that can arise. It explores the moral lesson of the original myth in a contemporary context.

Ultimately, the task of modernizing a myth requires creative thinking and personal interpretation. It's important to stay true to the essence of the myth while adapting it to the modern world.
