here's what i got for that question:

question:compare the colonial empires of Spain, France and England in terms of their settlements, economic structure and political control.

answer: The Spanish Empire was one of the largest empires in world history.

----
Giovanni da Verrazano was an Italian who sailed for the French in 1523-1524 in search for the Northwest Passage. He explored the coast of North America form what is now North Carolina to Newfoundland. On the basis of his voyage, the French king claimed a region called New France for his nation. Samuel de Champlain founded the first successful French colony in North America in 1806. he also mapped the Atlantic shores as far as Massachusetts and traveled inland to the lakes now known as Lake Huron and Lake Champlain. The French did not need the Northwest Passage to grow rich from their exploits in New France because they discovered that a local product, fur, could be sold for great gain in Europe. The fur trade determined the shape of New France.

i did not get anyting on the spain and england colonies,..please add any information that is necessary., i have loked on the sites but there is too much extra information, and i can't find what i need for this queiston
please add or remove as necessary
thanks ALOT

You haven't answered the question. Please search your book and the 6 websites I posted for information about their settlements, economic structure and political control in all of these settlements.

Do you understand the question?

yes i do, but this was the only relevant information i could find in my book,...

Most of what you wrote is irrelevant. Describe the settlements of the French colonies. How did they make a living or make money for France? Did the colonists have any political control -- or was that all in the hands of the French government?

ok, ..thanks

Certainly! Here's some additional information on the colonial empires of Spain and England to help you compare them with France in terms of their settlements, economic structure, and political control:

Spanish Empire:
- Settlements: The Spanish Empire established numerous settlements, such as Santo Domingo (present-day Dominican Republic) in 1496, and later, Mexico City (aka Tenochtitlan) in 1521, Lima (Peru) in 1535, and Manila (Philippines) in 1571. These settlements served as the centers of Spanish control in the Americas and Asia.
- Economic Structure: The Spanish Empire focused primarily on extracting natural resources from its colonies, especially gold and silver from mines in regions like Mexico and Peru. This wealth was sent back to Spain and used to finance its empire-building efforts.
- Political Control: Spain maintained tight political control over its colonies through a system known as the encomienda. This system granted Spanish colonists control over indigenous labor and land in exchange for their pledge to convert the indigenous population to Christianity and protect them. This arrangement ensured Spanish dominance and facilitated the spread of Catholicism.

English Empire:
- Settlements: The English Empire established permanent settlements in North America, including the Jamestown colony in present-day Virginia in 1607, and later, Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts in 1620. These colonies were initially established for economic purposes, such as finding valuable resources and establishing trade routes.
- Economic Structure: The English colonies were characterized by a diverse economic structure. While agriculture, including tobacco and later rice and indigo, played a significant role, trade and commerce also became important. The English colonies thrived in large part due to the growth of industries like shipbuilding, lumber, and fishing.
- Political Control: The English Empire employed different systems of colonial control over time. In some colonies, such as Virginia and Massachusetts, the British government established appointed governors to oversee colonial affairs. However, over time, many English colonies started to develop self-government, which led to the emergence of representative assemblies and the concept of limited self-rule.

By comparing these additional details, you can further analyze and contrast the settlements, economic structures, and political control of the Spanish, French, and English colonial empires.
