I was just wondering if it was a good idea to convert this part of the website into a homework forum? It would be alot more organized that way because everything would be under sections and stuff. People can also distinquish between tutors and students as well.
The only bad side I can think of in doing so would be the lack of Conveniency.
What do you guys think?
Also, wouldn't it be nice to have like a little IRC chat channel for Jiskah? That way, students can get real time help from tutors that are on. This idea might not work because alot of students might ask too much question at once and cause the tutor to be overwhelmed by the questions. It's just an idea.
Your ideas have been suggested before, even by teachers, but it hasn't been workable yet.

Three points for Chopsticks. These are my own thoughts; I don't make the rules since I don't run this site.
1. We want to keep anonymity and almost any kind of forum gives emails, IMs etc. That makes the board vulnerable to the evils that lurk out there in regard to predators and that kind of thing. The way it operates now, you can't get in touch with me and I can't get in touch with you (except, of course, by writing a note on this homework page).
2. There is enough business for ALL subjects but individual subjects lack the quantity we need for individual pages per subject.
3.This is a volunteer site and there are times when no one in a particular subject is available.
