I am having trouble with this problem. I have an equation written down but I have my doubts as to how correct it is.

I am thinking of 3 consecutive negative numbers. If I multiply the first with the second and then subtract three times the third, the result is 57. What are the numbers?

(-n)

(-n + 1)
(-n + 2)

(-n)(-n+1) - 3(-n+2) = 57
n^2 - n + 3 n -6 = 57
n^2 + 2 n - 63 = 0
(n+9)(n-7) = 0
n = 7 or -9
-n = -7
-n+1 = -6
-n+2 = -5
