Wetlands are able to remove nutrients and chemicals from water as the water flows through the area. A developer is planning to destroy most of the wetlands near a bay. In three to five sentences, explain how destroying the wetlands would impact the bay’s water quality and ecosystem.(4 points)

i'm so confused about this and don't know where to begin

Bob this is why you ain’t got any friends💀

The wet lands is full of pure water which is required for the ecosystem. Destroying the wetlands would heavily affect this. Therefore the water quality would heavily diminish and would no longer be the same as it once was.

This is my response, just reword it a bit so you don’t get caught. 👍

But Dr.Bob, I did look this up on Google and THIS is what appeared. So technically I did in fact use Google.

Bob can catch this L

Bob you’re here too. Why else would you be here on this site if you weren’t looking for answers?

straw hat thank u very much 🙏🙏

hi

To understand how destroying wetlands would impact the bay's water quality and ecosystem, we can start by examining the role wetlands play in filtering and purifying water. Wetlands act as a natural filter, removing excess nutrients and chemicals from the water as it passes through their vegetation and soils. By destroying the wetlands, the water that would have otherwise been naturally cleansed will flow directly into the bay, potentially leading to an increase in nutrient and chemical pollution. This can result in harmful algal blooms, reduced oxygen levels, and the loss of aquatic plant and animal species that rely on clean water for survival. The destruction of the wetlands can disrupt the delicate balance of the bay's ecosystem, leading to a decline in biodiversity and potentially negatively impacting the fishing industry and recreational activities in the area.

If you're so confused you don't know where to begin then it won't do you any good for me or anyone else to write this for you. You're best bet is to type this question into Google, read the SEVERAL sites about wetlands and how they function. When you understand all of that you can filter all of that information into a few sentences. Good luck. If you will post your work someone here shall be happy to critique it for you.
