what were the north's views on secession?

i know it was against it , but what else can i add to that. i've searched the internet and i found some info..i just need to know what other's people's opinions are. =]

The North believed that the United States should remain as one nation.

isn't that the same thing as 'it was against secession'..?

thanks still

Yes. It's the same. But it gives a reason why it was against secession -- to preserved the Union.

yea.what about the South,...it was for secession,..the people from the South argued that since the states had voluntarily joined the U.S., they also could choose to leave it

how did the South defend it's position[for secession]

That's a good reason. Also the South felt that the North had a majority of the population and thus would dominate the South.

thanks, Ms.Sue!

You're welcome, Bella.
