A calming river scene within a North American forest. Featured prominently in the image are beavers, depicted as large rodents, industriously bringing down old and dead trees along the riverbank. Their dam, made from these trees, can be seen in the middle of the river, creating a calm pool of water behind it. The surrounding environment depicts thriving biodiversity, demonstrating the role of beavers as 'ecosystem engineers'. However, also show a portion of the ecosystem appearing more barren and lifeless, hinting at the negative impacts of possible removal of beavers from this habitat.

Beavers, large members of the rodent family in North America, are often referred to as “ecosystem/keystone engineers” by wildlife managers. Ecosystem engineers are described as animals that create, alter, or destroy a habitat. Beavers contribute to river ecosystems by bringing down old and dead trees along riverbanks. They use these trees to make their dams. Although these dams are primarily used for protection and food storage, scientists report that these dams change the surrounding environment in different ways.

Given this information, in three to five sentences, describe a potential benefit that beavers contribute to the ecosystem as keystone engineers and describe a plausible impact that the removal of beavers could have on the surrounding ecosystem.

Dams store water, provide renewable energy and prevent floods. Unfortunately, they also worsen the impact of climate change. They release greenhouse gases, destroy carbon sinks in wetlands and oceans, deprive ecosystems of nutrients, destroy habitats, increase sea levels, waste water and displace poor communities.

Pyro don't be a bunghole

Apparently, "Random Girl" got her information here. "EarthLawCenter.org" so be very careful of what you type. Feel free to look around at this article and get a good view about the pros and cons of dams.

srtgxhrgjxgtzgthxrtgdjt, You 100% do NOT sound like a Karen to me because if you were then you would say"I AM GOING TO REPORT YOU" So no

Guys, you realize this doesn't teach you ANYTHING for the STAAR test(s) right..? Just study, it's really not that hard, if you get a bad grade just do a relearn. However, cheating ain't going to get you ahead, it will get you ahead IF YOU GET THE RIGHT ANSWERS. But still, why cheat, it's not good!! I know I sound like Ms. Sue (Rest In Peace), but I think that I'm 100% correct. I know that those of you who just LOVE to cheat are going to dislike this comment, but those who understand will like it. Do the right thing, if you get caught you will get an Academic Integrity Violation, too many of those will result or could result in a suspension that isn't appealable. But if you're doing good staying under the radio good job! You guys can continue cheating I just typed this to see who would actually read it lol just let me know what you think though.
