Mary cooked 10 L 50 mL of chicken soup on Saturday. She cooked 8 L 960 mL more chicken soup on Sunday than on Saturday. What was the total volume of chicken soup that she had cooked on both days?

1 L = 1000 mL

(10*1000) + 50 + (8*1000) + 960 = ?

This post has funny wording and I interpret it in a slightly different manner. Here's my take on it.

On Sat Mary cooks 10 L + 50 mL.
On Sunday Mary cooks 8 L + 960 mL MORE THAN ON SAT so she cooks, the way I see it, 10 L + 50mL + 8L + 960 mL = 18L + 1010 mL on Sunday.
So the total is 10 L + 50 mL + 18 L + 1010 mL = ?
Are you to put all of this into the same unit or not?
