If you were writing a bibliography/works cited page, how would you write one for a book if there are three authors?

This is what I think:
Davidson, James West et al., eds. The American Nation(underlined). (city: publisher, year).

But is the et al., eds part right???

Clancy, Tom, Carl Stiner, and Tony Koltz. Shadow Warriors: Inside the Special Forces(underlined). New York: Putnam, 2002.

thanks!

You're on the right track with your bibliography entry for a book with three authors. Here's the correct format:

Last name, First name, Middle name initial(s), et al. Title of the Book (underlined or italicized). Place of publication: Publisher, Year.

In your specific example, the correct format would be:

Clancy, Tom, Carl Stiner, and Tony Koltz. Shadow Warriors: Inside the Special Forces (underlined). New York: Putnam, 2002.

Instead of using "et al., eds," you should list all three authors' names, separated by commas. The abbreviation "et al." is typically used when there are more than three authors, indicating that there are additional contributors beyond those listed. Additionally, "eds" is used to indicate that the authors are editors of a book, not the primary authors. In the case of "Shadow Warriors," the three individuals listed (Clancy, Stiner, and Koltz) are the authors of the book, not the editors.

Remember to italicize or underline the book title, and include the city of publication, the publisher, and the year of publication.
