How many milliliters of medicine should be given to a 24-lb if the recommended dose is 40. mg/kg and the medication comes as a suspension with a cocentration of 400. mg/5mL? 1kg= 2.2kg

I think you made a typo. I suppose you mean 1 kg = 2.2 lbs

24 lb x 1 kg/2.2 lb = approx 10.9 kg but you can do that more accurately.
So the dose is 10.9 kg x 40 mg/kg = approx 436 mg
Then 400 mg/5 mL suspension x ?mL suspension = 436 mg
? mL suspension = xx mL
Check out the math.
