Illustrate a sorrowful horse wandering in the depths of a woodland, its head hanging low as it beseeches solace from the bracing wind and rain. A fox, radiating curiosity, encounters the gloomy equine, opening a dialogue with concern painted across its features. The scene should encapsulate the melancholy of the horse and the compassion displayed by the fox, echoing the narrative of abandonment, emotional distress, and faint hope detailed in the text.

Use the paragraph to answer the question.

The poor horse was very melancholy, and wandered up and down in the wood, seeking some little shelter from the cold wind and rain. Presently a fox met him: "What’s the matter, my friend?" said he. "Why do you hang down your head and look so lonely and woe-begone?" "Ah!" replied the horse, "justice and avarice never dwell in one house; my master has forgotten all that I have done for him so many years, and because I can no longer work he has turned me adrift and says unless I become stronger than a lion he will not take me back again; what chance can I have of that? He knows I have none, or he would not talk so."

Which idea is stated explicitly in the text?

A The fox is trying to trick the horse.

B The horse feels sad about his current situation.

C The horse believes he has a chance to return to his master.

D The farmer was sad to let his horse go.

1 The horse feels sad about his current situation.
2 The farmer has not acted fairly towards the horse.
3 theme, not stated directly

Also, the written answers talk about theme, allusions, analogies, and figurative language soo here's some help with that I guess :P
Theme: The meaning or message of a text
(Example: "Slow and steady wins the race." In the story the tortoise and the hare, the tortoise took his time and won, while the hare rushed and thought he had time to rest which made him loose."
Allusions: A reference to well known/popular piece of work, or a person, event, place, etc.
(Example: "She felt like she had a golden ticket." A reference to charlie and the chocolate factory, when charlie found the ticket he was happy, overfilled with joy, The way the girl feels is being compared to charlie when he got the ticket.)
Analogies: A comparison between things to show similarity or to clairfy (Example: “Life is like a box of chocolates—you never know what you're gonna get.” This is comparing a box of chocolates to life, life can be unexpected, just like a box of chocolate might come with different flavors and you don't know what your gonna get.)
Figurative Language: I found that many excerpts and stories in this test had many similes and metaphors, so if you didn't know, wish you should lol- Similies use like and as to compare 2 unlike things, metaphors compare 2 unlike things but do NOT use like or as.

this took way too long to write, also thx google for the examples in quotes lol
