How do I show probability notation with 2 outcomes?

For example, the probability of rolling a 6 on a die is 1/6 because there is one 6 on a die, so P(6) = 1/6.
But, how do I show probability notation of rolling both a 2 and a 6? There would be 1 chance of a 2, and one chance of a 6, so the ANSWER would be 2/6 = 1/3, but I'm wondering how I should the first part -- P(???)

to find the probability of two independent events, you multiply, not add.

P(2,6) = 1/6 * 1/6 = 1/36
P(6,2) = 1/6 * 1/6 = 1/36
Since either can occur, now you add, to get 2/36 = 1/18
List all the possible rolls, and you will see that there are only 2.
