2022 Electric Circuts Quick Check

1. The batteries of some flashlights can be charged by turning a handle. Which energy transformation is happening in this process? D. kinetic to electrical to chemical

2. A circuit in a home provides power to a light fixture. The homeowners want to use a compact fluorescent bulb instead of an incandescent bulb. Compact fluorescent bulbs can produce as much light as incandescent bulbs but with less energy. How is this possible? D. Incandescent bulbs produce other forms of energy, too, including heat.

3. Which list of components creates a circuit through which an electric current can flow? B. a battery, insulated wires, and a buzzer

4. A fan converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. Which purpose does a fan serve in a circuit? D. load

5. Imagine a string of holiday lights, with many bulbs connected to each other by wires. One bulb burns out, causing the bulbs next on the string not to work either. What type of circuit must the holiday lights be using? D. series

i hope this helps :)

Electric Circuits Quick Check

✅CORRECT ANSWERS✅
1) Incandescent bulbs produce other forms of energy, too, including heat.
2) Kinetic to electrical to chemical.
3) Turning the switch on completes the circuit between the power source and the load.
4) Energy stored in the bonds between atoms and molecules.
5) Kinetic energy to thermal energy.

Just tryna get by is sorta correct except on my quick check the last three questions (3, 4, 5) all are completely different.

For example, how do I answer question 3 when it says “Which list of components creates a circuit through which an electric current can flow?”.

Answer choices for my question 3:

A. a generator, a light bulb, and a closed switch

B. a generator, two light bulbs, and an open switch

C. a battery, insulated wires, a buzzer, and an open switch

Or

D. a battery, insulated wires, and a buzzer

After that, here’s what my question 4 says: “A fan converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. Which purpose does a fan serve in a circuit?”

Answers to Question 4 (for me):

A. switch

B. load

C. conductor

Or

D. power source

Lastly, my question 5 says this: “Imagine a string of holiday lights, with many bulbs connected to each other by wires. One bulb turns out, causing the bulbs next on the string not to work either. What type of circuit must the holiday lights be using?”

Answers for my question 5:

A. resistor

B. series

C. fuse

D. parallel

So if anybody could see this, please answer the questions I have as only ‘Just tryna get by’ is correct for the first two answers but not the last three as they don’t exist :(

Just tryna get by is correct

Thank You!!! @Emma Roberts Right as of 2022 just read the actual wording because it can change but other than that she is right.

Emma Roberts is correct truss 💯💪🏾

Just tyrna get by is correct as of April 19th 2023 for 8th Grade Semester B

Thank you for confirming! It's great to see that the information is still accurate.

Number 2 and 5 is not there. My questions are "What is chemical energy" and "A closed circuit with a 12 V battery has a resistance of 6 Ω. What is the current flowing through it?"

Just tyrna get by is still correct as of 2023 for 7th grade semester 2!
