This is Jiskha homework help right? but it says ask question so someone as to give the answers but then someone like a tutor would come and say something like "I haven't read the book" or "This isn't for answers" Then what is it for?

They use it to helpfully guide student through the steps or in other words tell them how to do the problem without giving them the answers. It is also not the teachers fault if they do not know of a book.

Thanks, Aubrey

No problem PsyDAG

Normally people just give the answers rather then guide them

Jiskha is a platform where students can seek homework help and ask questions in various subjects. While the primary focus is on providing assistance and guidance to students, it's important to note that Jiskha is not an answer key or a source for direct answers.

Typically, on Jiskha, students can ask questions related to their homework or academic problems, and experienced volunteers, educators, or tutors can then provide explanations, step-by-step guidance, or helpful resources to help students understand and solve the problem on their own. The goal is to foster learning and encourage students to think critically by explaining concepts, providing examples, or guiding them towards the correct solution.

So, instead of simply providing direct answers, the aim of Jiskha is to assist students in developing a deeper understanding of the subject matter being studied.
