how would I simply this:

(y-2)/(2-y)

do you notice that the numerator and denominator are opposites?

eg. 2-y = -(y-2)

so it reduces to 1, (but y cannot be 2)

Thank you :)

To simplify the expression (y-2)/(2-y), you can start by factoring out -1 from the denominator:

(y-2)/[-1(y-2)]

Next, you can cancel out the common factor (y-2) in the numerator and denominator:

= -1

So, the simplified form of (y-2)/(2-y) is -1.
