Are there any online Nystrom World Atlas. I forgot may book at school and can't do my work without it.

Very few textbooks are online; the few that are require a username and password, usually provided by your teacher. Here's an example:

why is it so hot at the equator?

The equator is hot because of the angle at which the sun's rays hit the Earth's surface. At the equator, the sun is nearly directly overhead, causing the sunlight to strike the Earth's surface more directly. This means that a smaller area is exposed to the same amount of sunlight compared to other regions, leading to a higher concentration of solar energy.

Additionally, the equator receives a consistent amount of sunlight throughout the year due to its proximity to the sun. This results in a relatively stable and high level of solar radiation, further contributing to the heat.

Furthermore, the equator is characterized by low latitudes, which is the distance from the equator to the poles. This proximity to the equator means that the sunlight has less atmosphere to pass through, leading to less absorption and scattering of solar radiation. As a result, more solar energy reaches the surface, causing higher temperatures.

These factors combined create the hot climate typically experienced near the equator.
