Read through these examples carefully so you learn what is and what isn't a good thesis statement. Then let us know what you decide to write.

PS — Have you planned (outlined) your paper yet? If not, that should be done in conjunction with planning and writing your thesis statement.

I have multiple ideas and I made up a couple and found a few quotes but they don't seem like good thesis statements;

1. There are survivors of the Holocaust, Jewish survivors and Nazi soldiers.
2. During World War || the experiences of Jewish individuals or communities living under Nazi occupation were appalling, why?
QUOTES:
3. Jews survived all the defeats, expulsions, persecutions and pogroms, the centuries in which they were regarded as a pariah people, even the Holocaust itself, because they never gave up the faith that one day they would be free to live as Jews without fear.
Jonathan Sacks
3. That I survived the Holocaust and went on to love beautiful girls, to talk, to write, to have toast and tea and live my life - that is what is abnormal.
Elie Wiesel

Can thesis statements be a question?

Don't use quotations for thesis statements. Those are OTHER people's words.

Of the ones you wrote, this would work fine:
During World War II, the experiences of Jewish individuals or communities living under Nazi occupation were appalling.

… although you should undoubtedly think of an even stronger word than "appalling."

I think this is good: Experiences of Jewish Individuals or communities living under Nazi occupation during World War || were appalling.

Please note that the "II" indicating World War Two needs to be two capital I's, not two of those keys at the right side of the keyboard.

If you don't want to use the correct Roman numeral abbreviation, just write "World War Two."

To create a strong thesis statement for a project about the Holocaust focusing on Nazi and Jewish survivors, you should consider the following steps:

1. Understand the topic: Begin by researching and gaining a good understanding of the Holocaust, the experiences of Nazi survivors, and the experiences of Jewish survivors. Note any key points or patterns that emerge.

2. Identify a specific focus: Since your project centers around Nazi and Jewish survivors, your thesis statement should reflect this specific aspect of the Holocaust. Consider the impact, challenges, or resilience of these survivors and how their experiences may differ.

3. Formulate a clear argument: Your thesis statement should present a clear argument or claim that you will support throughout the project. This will serve as the main idea and guiding force behind your research and analysis.

4. Consider the relevance and significance: Your thesis statement should address why studying Nazi and Jewish survivors is important and what insights or lessons can be gained from their experiences.

Based on this process, a possible thesis statement for your project about the Holocaust focusing on Nazi and Jewish survivors could be:

"The stories of Nazi and Jewish survivors of the Holocaust reveal remarkable resilience, shedding light on the complex dynamics of survival, the lasting impact of trauma, and the importance of remembrance in understanding and preventing such atrocities in the future."

Remember that your thesis statement should be clear, concise, and arguable, providing a roadmap for your project's analysis and research.
