Ms. Sue can you help me on this problem or at least explain because I'm very stuck....

Solve the inequality. Explain all steps and identify the properties used.

n/-3 + 5 > 4

No idea why you are stuck.

But the solution is easy:
n/-3 + 5 > 4 -- now subtract 5 to get all the "n" stuff alone on the left
n/-3 > -1 -- now multiply by -3 to get "n" all alone
n < 3
so, why the switch?

n/-3 + 5 > 4

subtract 5 from both sides
n/-3 > -1
multiply both sides by -3
CHANGE direction of arrow if multiply or divide by negative
n < 3
==============
check
if n = 2
2/-3 + 5 >4 ???
5 - 2/3 = 4 1/3
and
4 1/3 > 4 Yes Whew !!!

Question: How can the tutors tell if one person is using multiple names?

Oh thats why i forgot to subtract.... Thank you oobleck!

ok, I'm sorry.

Please do not use my name in your name.

You need to get smarter about how you post here. You've posted under several other names, and that doesn't go over well with the tutors you need help from most.

Blackpink
Bob with a bunch of $ signs
Ms. Sue Friends cousins Friend
etc.

Pick a normal name and keep it. Quit playing games.
