What is one reason certain key signatures are used?

A. to confuse performers
B. to match with other pieces of the time period
C. to satisfy a client
D. to fit the instruments that will be playing the piece

My answer is B, but I'm not sure

But here are the answers for them all

C
A
A
B
A
B
C
D
W (whole step)

I've studied music theory before, so I may be able to help. I'm also considering D because some instruments are tuned to be in a certain key (like Trumpet in F or Clarinet in Bb and stuff like that). B could work, but I don't really see how that would be the answer. Again, try D, or you can stick with B.

My next answer would be D, is that correct?

@FarraRI yes D would be the best option

@iHeartMusic yes exactly. There are also modes, but that's a different story.

help me pls Mrs. Sue or Writeacher or Oobleck

Yes it is D

how is E.T wrong Iknow sometimes Mrs. Sue's wrong but I need facts how the answers are wrong.

k thanks!

Every piece of tonal music is in a certain key, which will be either major or minor. The key signature tells you what that key is. Key signatures are used in order to make it unnecessary to fill up the staves with flats and sharps on many notes.
