Please help...LAST final for this class and truly need some help on this one.

Which is a true statement about political parties? (1 point)
George Washington created the first political party.
The U.S. Constitution does not mention political parties.
The Democratic Party was considered the dominant party between 1860 and 1932.
It is illegal for one party to be in control of both houses of Congress.

Can you clarify why you are continuously deleting my comments. They spoke only of the truth and my perception. They are neither inflammatory, rude or out of line. Unlike the above. Perhaps you might consider deleting your accusation as well. If personal opinions are not allowed, then that policy should be applied to ALL!! (screen shot of thread sent to Jiskha admin.)

I think its C...The Democratic Party was considered the dominant party between 1860 and 1932, but am second guessing

Well, thanks. I was hoping for some insight on just this one. Out of the 22 on the test, this was the only one unsure.

You can do the same thing I did. Google the possible answers.

seriously don't you think I did that? Lazy I am not. Unsure I am.

To determine which statement about political parties is true, we can go through each option and evaluate it:

1. George Washington created the first political party: This statement is not true. George Washington actually warned against the dangers of political parties in his Farewell Address and did not create or belong to any specific political party himself.

2. The U.S. Constitution does not mention political parties: This statement is true. The U.S. Constitution, as originally written, does not mention political parties as they were not a formal part of the political system at the time.

3. The Democratic Party was considered the dominant party between 1860 and 1932: This statement is true. During this time period, the Democratic Party did hold significant influence and was often considered the dominant political party in the United States.

4. It is illegal for one party to be in control of both houses of Congress: This statement is not true. There is no legal prohibition on one party controlling both the House of Representatives and the Senate simultaneously. In fact, it has happened several times in U.S. history.

Based on the evaluation of each statement, the true statement about political parties is that the U.S. Constitution does not mention political parties.

I'll be glad to check your answer.

I have a hard time believing you.
