How would you hook up 3 resistors in a circuit to get the maximum current and the minimum current?

My guess is that in parallel, low current. In series, high current........just my guess.

good guess

Then am I correct it the question was referring to voltage???

My initial assumption was correct. Resistors in series will experience the same current and thus a higher current compare to a resistors in series.

To hook up three resistors in a circuit, there are two common configurations: series and parallel.

1. Series Configuration:
In a series configuration, the resistors are connected end to end, with the current flowing through each resistor in the same path. To achieve the maximum current, you would connect the positive terminal of the power source to one end of the first resistor, then connect the other end of the first resistor to one end of the second resistor, and finally connect the other end of the second resistor to one end of the third resistor. Lastly, you would connect the other end of the third resistor to the negative terminal of the power source. This configuration will result in the maximum current flowing through all three resistors.

2. Parallel Configuration:
In a parallel configuration, the resistors are connected side by side, with each resistor having the same voltage across it. To achieve the minimum current, you would connect one end of each resistor to the positive terminal of the power source, then connect the other end of each resistor to the negative terminal of the power source. This configuration will result in the minimum current flowing through each individual resistor.

To calculate the maximum and minimum currents, you would need to know the values of the resistors and the voltage across the circuit. Generally, using Ohm's law (I = V/R), you can determine the current (I) in a circuit by dividing the voltage (V) across the circuit by the total resistance (R). For the maximum current, you would use the total resistance of the series configuration, which is the sum of the individual resistors. For the minimum current, you would use the resistance value of a single resistor in the parallel configuration.

To optimize these configurations further, you can adjust the resistance values of the resistors to achieve the desired current values.

but backward

parallel is low resistance - high current

series is high resistance - low current
