Immigrants to the United States sometimes faced resistance and discrimination. Give two reasons why this happened

People are often afraid of people with different languages, customs, and religions.

Immigrants came to America to start a new life. For some, it was hard to find jobs because there were so many workers .Immigrants brought their languages and traditions with them. They had to live in really small apartments that had little fresh air.

Between 1870 and 1900, the largest number of immigrants continued to come from northern and western Europe including Great Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia, and North Africa. These immigrants faced large problems including unemployment, (both because of their religion and because they were from a different place). African immigrants were faced with lynching and abuse because of their race and skin color. Many of these immigrants also faced slavery because they could not pay to feed or support their families due to unemployment.
