Hi,

I have assignment about writing critiques and/or appraisals on an article however, I have never written one before, I was wondering if someone could give me some guidelines to follow? Also, would having 1 appraisal and 2 critique points in one paragraph be allowed for these type of papers (there's a limit of 3 paragraphs including intro and conclusion for the assignment) Please and Thank you!

Thank you for those resources, however, does this mean appraisals and critiques are basically interchangeable items?

The only use of appraisals seems to be to judge other people -- as in employees. That's a different purpose and writing style than a critique. Please ask your teacher for her/his definition of these two terms.

Ah i see, I was thinking of having an appraisal of one key point leading up to 2 critique points and I wonder does that mean I can't really do it that way?

Also, may I ask if points in the article relates to my course materials and I discussed how they relate would that be considered as an appraisal or critique? Thanks once again.
