My question for you regarding your choice is this: Was the Republic of Texas made up of states?

I suspect that you are correct.

Was it composed of states before it became one of the states in the USA?

I think Damon is right -- that your choice is correct -- but the wording of the question is off. The Republic of Texas was made up of districts, as you'll read in the second of the two links I gave you.

D could be correct, too, given the nature of those very first Texans!! However, the way that constitution was written is more "federalism" than popular sovereignty.

I'd go with C.

The answer was D but it’s ok because I learned something thank you everyone for the help :)

No the republic of texas was an independent nation it wasn’t apart of the USA yet and it was independent from Mexico

Ohhh so write teacher it would be d ?

Ok thank you

ah well.....

The correct answer is (D)

I just took the test.
