Explain what is meant by “Manifest Destiny” and describe how belief in that idea was a main reason for the United States going to war with Mexico.

  1. Do you have a good definition for "Manifest Destiny"? If not, google the term and make sure you fully understand it. Then think about who "owned" Texas at different times in fairly recent history (1700s onward), and let us know what you decide.
