In Harper Lee's novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, there is a reference Scout makes to FDR's statements along the lines of "nothing to fear but fear itself". Does anybody know what page this is on or at least the chapter? I'm looking all over but I cannot find it to save my life. If it helps, the book I'm using is printed by Warner Books with a 1960 copyright. Thanks! :)

maybe going on spark notes and reading the short summary of each chapter will help you find out which chapter you're looking for

:)

It's from Chapter 1.

To find the specific page or chapter in the Warner Books edition of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird where Scout references FDR's statement about "nothing to fear but fear itself," there are a few methods you can try:

1. Table of Contents: Check the table of contents at the beginning of the book. It should list the chapters or sections, and you can look for any chapter titles or headings that might indicate a reference to FDR or fear.

2. Index: Look for an index at the end of the book, which should list specific keywords or topics along with the corresponding page numbers. In the case of the Warner Books edition, there might not be an index, as not all editions include it.

3. Contextual Clues: Try to recall the general context or scene in which Scout makes the reference to FDR's statement. For example, is it during a conversation with another character or part of Scout's internal thoughts? This could help you narrow down the area of the book to focus on.

4. Online Search: Another option is to search for the specific quote or reference to FDR's statement using an online search engine or digital copy of the book. There are websites that provide digital versions or summaries of novels like To Kill a Mockingbird, which often include searchable text. You can search for the quote or related keywords to locate the specific passage you're looking for.

Remember, page numbers can vary depending on the edition and printing of the book, so it's possible that the specific page number you're seeking may not align with the edition you have.
