If 4X + Y =H, Then X is equal to?

4X + Y =H
Move Y to other side by subtracting Y from both sides.
4X + Y - Y = H - Y
Combine terms.
4X = H - Y
Now divide both sides by 4 to get 1X.
4X/4 = (H - Y)/4
X = (H-Y)4 or (1/4)(H-Y)
