Topic: Candles

I was given a task to write an introduction for a report and according to the marking rubric, it must "justify the purpose of the investigation with relevance to real world applications with sources cited. Provides sufficient relevant background information and a brief description of the location."

The part which I don't get is, "brief description of the location." I have no clue what this is trying to ask me... Need some insight on this, and would be great if you could relate it back to the topic of "candles" and the introduction.

Thanks for your time.

They are asking where did you do the research? Was it in a lab? Was it at a school? Was it in a basement?

That is what they are asking.

The "brief description of the location" requirement in the marking rubric implies that you should include some information about the context or setting of your investigation. It is asking you to provide a short overview of the place or environment where the investigation on candles is taking place.

To relate it to the topic of candles, you could consider the physical location where candles are commonly used or produced. For example, you might mention that candles have been used for centuries in religious ceremonies, and describe a particular place of worship where candles are an integral part of the practice. Another option could be discussing the historical significance of a particular location or region known for its candle-making traditions.

Alternatively, you could focus on a specific facility or laboratory where experiments or research on candles are being conducted. For instance, you could mention a renowned optics laboratory that is studying the properties of candles for their illumination capabilities.

In either case, aim to provide enough relevant background information about the location to help justify the purpose of your investigation on candles. The brief description should set the stage and provide a real-world connection to the topic, giving your readers an understanding of why your investigation is significant and how it relates to the given location. Remember to cite your sources if you use any external information to support your description.
