In "Stage Fright" he says that after the first five minutes of his performance he was not scared anymore. This shows that he is a lighthearted person. Twain seems to believe that people can change for the better. Twains characters represent people in general by describing realistic experiences with characters who seem ordinaray. Twain is concidered one of America's greatest writers because his writings and ideas are still important and relevant to our society even after many years.
