Monaco is a small sovereign city-state located on the French Riviera in Western Europe. It is bordered by France on three sides, as it is situated on the French coastline. The country of Italy does not directly border Monaco. However, Monaco is in close proximity to Italy, which is located across the Mediterranean Sea to the east. So, while Italy does not border Monaco, it is nearby across the body of water known as the Mediterranean Sea.
