How do I find the intersect and slope of a graph?

You are probably looking for the x-intercept.

In general, let f(x) = 0
e.g. f(x) = x^3 - 8
x^3 = 8 = 0
x^3 = 8
x = 2

As for the slope, if your function is linear, the problem is easy
A linear function can be written as y = mx + b
In that case the slope is simply the value of m
e.g. y = (3/5)x + 7 , the slope is 3/5

If the function is non-linear, such as a parabola, the most efficient way
is to use Calculus. From the nature of the question, I don't think you are
at that point in your studies.
