A community group is planning on the expansion of a square flower garden in a city park. If each side of the original garden is increased by 3 meters, the new total area of the garden will be 225 square meters. Find the length of each side of the original garden.

  8. take the square root of 255 (like ms.sue said) and you get 15, which is the NEW side length. If you subtract 3 (because that's how much they added) you get the answer: 12. 12 is the old side length.

  14. If you have the option for 13, it's 13. The version of the question OP posted asks for the square root of 225. The other version of the question asks for the square root of 169. Y'all keep ya brains on

  16. If you are solving for 169 m². The answer is 4m. this is because 4+9 = 13. And 13 is the square root of 169. Since you are solving for the original garden, 13-9 = 4. Answer=4. Do not put 13 or you will get it wrong.
