Could you plz help explain how to do this short answer?

a glass box has a width of 7, a length of 9, and a height of 12
it is put in a larger box with a width of 10, a length of 10, and a height of 15.
the space between the glass box and the big box will be filled with packing peanuts. How many cubic inches of space will be filled with peanuts?
i would really appreciate it thank you SO much.

Volume of big one - Volume of little one

10*10*15 - 7*9*12

the volume of peanuts is the large box minus the small box:

10*10*15 - 7*9*12 = ?

First find the area of the first glass box, w: 7 l:9 h:12. b x h. 7 x 12 = 84. 10 x 15 = 150. Do you know the rest I cant just give out answers, i found the area of the boxes for you.

Roxypoo,

volume not area

To calculate the volume of the space between the glass box and the big box, you need to determine the volume of both boxes.

1. Calculate the volume of the glass box:
The volume of a rectangular box is calculated by multiplying its length, width, and height.
Volume of glass box = width * length * height = 7 * 9 * 12 = 756 cubic inches.

2. Calculate the volume of the big box:
Just like the glass box, the volume of the big box is calculated the same way.
Volume of big box = width * length * height = 10 * 10 * 15 = 1500 cubic inches.

3. Calculate the space filled with packing peanuts:
Subtract the volume of the glass box from the volume of the big box to find out the space remaining.
Space filled with packing peanuts = Volume of big box - Volume of glass box.
Space filled with packing peanuts = 1500 - 756 = 744 cubic inches.

Therefore, 744 cubic inches of space will be filled with packing peanuts between the glass box and the big box.
