Question states a made up organism

and want me to classify it by kingdom , phylum and genus

am i supposed to "make up" the genus since they are not real animals.

an animal example is this

Butter-roaches: genetic engineering created these butterfly-like creatures from cockroaches. Butter-roaches eat poison grass.

I would eliminate the "poison" part. It wouldn't survive if it ate poison.

What about something like eat a wide variety of green plants and nectar bearing flowers, have 13 body segments, six legs, two antenna, and a tounge that can extend twice as far as the length of their body for reaching into deep throated flowers for nectar.

very informational thank you but im wondering on how to find the genus of this species?

im filling out a taxonomy chart and am supposed to find the genus

start with the body segments, legs, antenna, tounge.

for example

PHOTOSYNTHETIC Sunbasking shark

Classification: Kingdom Animalia, Phylum Chordata, Class Chondrichthyes, Order Lamniformes, Family Cetorhinidae, **Genus Cetorhinus**, Species maximus

CONCLUSION: So keep the PHYLUM of the animal as it is and change the GENUS according to the imaginary type that is likely to appear in the year 2525.

i dont know how to find a genus of a species

Hmmm. Ok, then consider rapidly changing domesticated species, for food. A bird that has no feathers, large meat breast, short legs, eats plant wastes.
