Which is a treatment for cancer?

(Select all that apply.)

1) radiation
2)surgery
3) chemotherapy
4)ultraviolet light

I know option 3) is an answer, but I can't decide between 1) and 2), I know people CAN operate on cancer, but the cells could explode and spread the cancer, making it even more serious

My daughter went through 1, 2, and 3 during her treatment for cancer.

I hope she's doing better, thank you for the help

Two kinds of UV light – ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) – can be used to treat skin lymphoma

To determine which treatments are used for cancer, it's important to consider the various approaches and their effectiveness. Let's discuss each option:

1) Radiation: Radiation therapy is a common treatment for cancer. It uses targeted high-energy particles or waves, such as X-rays, to kill or shrink cancer cells. It is effective in destroying cancer cells and can be used alone or in combination with other treatments.

2) Surgery: Surgical removal of cancerous tumors or affected tissues is another treatment option. The goal is to remove as much of the cancerous tissue as possible, reducing the size of the tumor or completely eliminating it. Surgeons take precautions to prevent the spreading of cells during surgery by carefully removing and containing any cancerous tissue.

3) Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy involves using drugs to kill cancer cells throughout the body. It can be given orally, intravenously, or directly into specific body cavities, depending on the type of cancer. Chemotherapy is often used in combination with other treatments like surgery or radiation to increase effectiveness.

4) Ultraviolet light: Ultraviolet (UV) light, specifically ultraviolet C (UVC) light, is not commonly used as a primary treatment for cancer. While UV light can destroy certain cells, it is not an established or widely accepted treatment for cancer.

Based on the information provided, options 1) (radiation) and 2) (surgery) are both valid treatments for cancer. They are often used either individually or in combination with other therapies, depending on the type and stage of cancer. It is always best to consult with medical professionals to determine the most suitable treatment plan for a specific cancer case.
