As you can see from my nickname, math and I don't have great history. That is why I would like someone to check my answer.

Q: Samantha types 40 words per minute. How many words can she type in 8 minutes?

My Answer: 320

How I got to this: This question wants me to do multiplication. There are only two numbers, so it is obvious that those are the numbers I should multiply. 40x8=320. Samantha can write 320 words in 8 minutes.

Is this correct? Help please! (My actual name is Hailey ^^)

Yes, Hailey, you are correct. See -- you can do well in math! :-)

Thanks!

I also must inform you of 3 people I found on jiskha who are so disrespectful to you! On the topic named 7th Grade Social Studies, I found it "Ms. Sue is a jerk" as well as someone pretending to be you! They said something very inappropriate as well. I clicked on the name "Ms. Sue is a jerk" and found someone else who dares to be so mean! Their name is "Ms. Sue SUCKS!!!"

I'm so sorry that people are so mean as to do that, you have helped hundreds and maybe thousands of people on jiskha, you do not deserve treatment like that! Again, thank you.

Thank you for the information. Students sometimes get mad at me because I won't give them the answers.

Hi Hailey! Your answer is absolutely correct! You've correctly multiplied the number of words Samantha types per minute (40) by the number of minutes (8) to find the total number of words she can type in 8 minutes.

In general, when you want to multiply two numbers, you need to multiply the first number by the second number. So, in this case, you multiplied 40 by 8:

40 x 8 = 320

So Samantha can type 320 words in 8 minutes. Well done! Keep up the good work! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
