A 0.3500 MHCl solution was used to titrate a 21.60 mL sodium acetate solution. The endpoint was reached after 25.75 mL of titrant were added. Find the molar concentration of sodium acetate in the original solution.

I don’t know how to do any of these problems, that’s why I’m asking. I’m trying to help my child who is seriously struggling in the class and would like to be able to help him. I was told by a friend that this site was helpful with any questions for all subjects. I didn’t realize that I would get chastised for asking!

That’s not an option at this point in the year. He’s had a B all year until this unit and he just doesn’t get it. I must be mistaken, then, that this is a site you go to for help. Are you the administrator? I’m curious what gives you the right to delete whatever you want? Maybe there are other tutors that are willing to help parents that are trying to help their kids, unlike you. I looked at your most recent posts and most are for Math. Why don’t you let someone else decide if they are willing to help, since you obviously aren’t.

Well, he’s not the one posting and he’s not cheating. I’m trying to get answers so when he does the problems I can help him if he makes a wrong step. I can not afford private tutoring, I never took AP Chem and he doesn’t have tutoring resources at his school, thus, the reason I posted all the questions here. Which you just deleted!! That’s a GREAT way to be helpful.

Please make good use of http://www.khanacademy.org. Click on subjects (near the top left) and then scroll down to find the lessons/topics needed.

Another place to get lessons on various topics is http://www.wolframalpha.com

I’m perfectly aware of the AP exam requirements, thus the reason I would like to help him with this unit. This isn’t his first AP class...not even close. This will also be my last post to you, Ms. Sue. I’ve already lodged a lengthy complaint about you and the way you have treated me. You might want to take a breath and not look for the bad in everyone you come across. There are actually people that want to help their students!

Writeacher - thank you, Khan Academy was my first stop and I did read the acid/bases section, but it’s been a looong time since I had Chemistry in high school. With units building one on the other, many of the terms weren’t familiar and I found myself spending several hours and still unable to answer his questions about his homework problems. That’s why I reached out to this site. I was hoping to get answers so I could direct him if he needed help on a specific question. I’ll look at your other suggestion as well and get him to look at it. Hopefully something will click. I appreciate your kindness.

What Ms. Sue was trying to explain is that you've posted a number of questions that are extremely similar in nature and work on the exact same concept.

We usually try to explain one question of a certain type to someone asking for help so that they use that example to understand the question, and then use it to solve further questions with their learned understanding.

To the same effect, I've replied with the basic method to solve these types of questions on a different post.

This will be my last post in this thread. Are you aware that students need to do well on a final exam in an AP class in order to get college credit for it?

Posting this many questions with no indication of what the student knows looks more like cheating than asking for help. Your best option is to direct him? her? to get live tutoring at school.

Chem teachers can still post their answers on these posts.

Please go back and post what you know about each of these problem. Do not post any more questions.

I suggest your child drop out of this advanced placement class and enroll in a regular chemistry class.

If she's having this much trouble (and that includes the half a dozen or more posts that I deleted), then she should not be in this AP class.
