4 min 90 s As a ratio in simplest form.
A little help here my heads swimming in confusion.
I am guessing they want to express 4 minutes to 90 seconds as a ratio
4 min : 90 s
= 240 s : 90 s, now we have the same units
= 240 : 90
= 8 : 3
can't do it as a ratio. There's nothing to compare it to. You might as well ask how to write
3 feet 2 inches
or
6 lbs 4 oz
as a ratio. It's just a value.
Oh well they have 4 mins and 90 secs as a fraction so does that change anything or........
is there anyway to change the fraction into simplest form?
YES! I owe you one Reiny :)Thank you so much!
Wait if you mean the 2 to 7 thing I just kept it like that because 7 cant be divided so I hope this helps
To express the ratio 4 minutes and 90 seconds in simplest form, we need to convert the seconds to minutes.
First, we know that 1 minute is equal to 60 seconds. So, we can divide 90 seconds by 60 to find the equivalent minutes.
90 seconds ÷ 60 seconds/minute = 1.5 minutes
Therefore, we have 4 minutes and 1.5 minutes. To simplify the ratio, we need to make sure both values are whole numbers.
Since 1.5 minutes is equivalent to 1 minute and 30 seconds, we can add 1 to 4 minutes to get 5 minutes, and express it as:
5 minutes : 30 seconds
And this is the simplest form of the ratio 4 minutes and 90 seconds.
