Pls help,

Anyone know the easiest ways to find if rations form a proportion?

Probably cross multiplying.

3/6 = 50/100

3 * 100 = 300
6 * 50 = 300

Yes, they are equal; they are a proportion.

Thanks!

You're welcome.

Certainly! Determining if ratios form a proportion involves comparing two or more ratios to see if they are equal. There are a few steps that can make this process easier:

Step 1: Write down the given ratios.
For example, let's consider two ratios:
Ratio 1: 2:3
Ratio 2: 4:6

Step 2: Simplify the ratios.
To compare the ratios easily, it is helpful to simplify them by dividing both numbers in the ratio by their greatest common divisor (GCD). In this case, both ratios are already simplified.

Step 3: Cross-multiply.
Cross-multiplication determines if the ratios are in proportion. Multiply the first number in ratio 1 by the second number in ratio 2 and compare it with the product of the second number in ratio 1 and the first number in ratio 2. If the two products are equal, the ratios form a proportion.

(2 x 6) = 12
(3 x 4) = 12

Since both products are equal (12 = 12), the ratios 2:3 and 4:6 form a proportion.

Remember, if you have more than two ratios, compare each one with the first ratio. If all the cross-products are equal, then the ratios form a proportion.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
