Is this examples of Irony and Juxtaposition?

In that three foot pile now-irony

one earthquake in Alaska,
seventeen American soldiers- juxtaposition

You haven't given us enough of the quotations to determine what they exemplify.

this is from my earlier post..I posted it and nobody seemed to reply..:(

This part shows at least two examples of juxtaposition.

Tragedies relegated to a three-foot pile of discarded newsprint.

Violent death and hockey scores

Isn't it also ironic that tragedies have been reduced to old newspapers stuffed in a closet? Also look at the last few lines of the poem.

"In that three foot pile now,
a dozen airliner crashes,
one earthquake in Alaska,
seventeen American soldiers
face down in Asian mud.

I could go on enumerating
like newsprint-we record
violent death&hockey scores
&keep the front room neat"

Yes, those are examples of irony and juxtaposition.

Irony refers to a situation in which there is a contrast between what is expected or intended and what actually happens. In the phrase "In that three foot pile now-irony," it seems like the speaker is referring to a situation where there is a three foot pile (of something) which is now ironic. However, without additional context, it is hard to determine the specific irony being highlighted here.

Juxtaposition refers to the placement of two contrasting elements side by side to create an effect or emphasize a point. In the phrase "one earthquake in Alaska, seventeen American soldiers," there is a juxtaposition between a natural disaster (earthquake) and a group of soldiers. The contrasting nature of these two elements being mentioned together creates a striking effect.
