Can someone please explain to me what it means by character role?
I'm looking this up in order to try and find out what it means, but all I keep seeing are people arguing with one another.
Please, I need to get this done soon and I have no clue what it means by 'character role'. I know I'm just being stupid but I'm genuinely confused. From what I've seen so far I think we have to pick a character from the novel for something?
Can someone please dumb this question down for me?

I got chu m8. In lesson one there is a link and it leads to character roles and tbh I would choose the one about making pictures in your mind as you read. I said something along the lines of I make the pictures in my mind to help me further understand the book, blah blah blah, I took what I already know about how Boston looks and I could picture him walking down the street, another example would be when in the beginning of the book you could picture Johnny getting Dove and dusty out of bed. Stuff like that. Do you have Miss Markley? And Twenty One Pilots... cause sameeeeee. Hope that helps! ~Blxrryfxce

THAnK YOU BlxRRYFxce ( i luv twenty one pilots ) you're the best ily thanks

Blxrryfxce yessss i also like twenty one pilots!!!!

No wait i don't like them i LOVE them!!!!it says it better

What is this the 2018s? LMAO-

Of course! I'm here to help. In this context, "character role" refers to the specific character you focused on or identified with as you read the novel "Johnny Tremain." It means you were assigned or chose a character to analyze, understand, and imagine oneself in their shoes. By taking on a character role, you gained a deeper understanding of the text by seeing events and themes through that character's perspective.

To determine the ideas that would be most relevant for a literary discussion about Johnny Tremain, you need to think about the aspects of the story that were significant to your chosen character. Put yourself in their role and ask yourself:

1. What were the major struggles or challenges the character faced?
2. What were the motivations, desires, and beliefs of the character that influenced their actions?

By considering these questions, you can identify ideas that are essential to your character's development and the overall narrative.

To support your response, it would be helpful to provide at least two specific examples from the novel. For instance, if you chose Johnny Tremain as your character, you could discuss his journey from being a talented apprentice silversmith to a politically engaged revolutionary. You could explore how his physical injury and subsequent transformation shaped his perspective on freedom and the pursuit of liberty.

Another example could be Cilla Lapham, Johnny's love interest. You could discuss her role as a symbol of hope and resilience, highlighting her determination to fight against adversity and her impact on Johnny's character development.

Ultimately, the role you selected and the work you completed helped you understand more about the text by providing a focused lens through which you could analyze the story. As you explored the novel from the perspective of your chosen character, you gained insights into their motivations, experiences, and their impact on the overall narrative. This deepened understanding allows you to participate in a literary discussion with a unique perspective, contributing to a richer analysis of the novel.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what that is, either. Your text materials must explain it in some previous lesson. This assignment asks you to identify anything about characters in the novel Johnny Tremainthat could be discussed in a group discussion.
