1. The guests talked about a lot of topics on the talk show.

2. The guests talked about a lot of topics in the talk show.
---------------------------
Which one is correct? Do we have to use 'on' here?

3. First speaker, come to the podium, please. And deliver a speach about the topic.
(Is this passage correct? In fornt of a classroom, when there is no raised part made of wood, can we use 'podium' as in the first sentence? What is the name for the part on which a lecturer put his textbook? It is on a floor which doesn't have a flatform.)

You should use "on" in the first example sentences.
=================================
4. The comedian plys an improtant role in the TV program.

5. The comedian plys an improtant role on the TV program.
[Thank you for yor help. Do we have to use 'in' or 'on' here?]

Both are correct, but ‘on’ is more widely used.

And be sure to correct the typo — ‘plays.’

4. The comedian plays an important role in the TV program.

5. The comedian plays an important role on the TV program.

Again, both are fine, but I'd use 2.

However, I'd also say "... in the movie" or "... in the play" (not "on").I don't know if there's a specific rule for this, or if it's just habit!

To determine the correct preposition to use in these sentences, let's analyze the context.

1. "The guests talked about a lot of topics on the talk show."
This sentence is correct. When we talk about something being broadcasted or aired on television or radio, we use the preposition "on." So, in this case, "on" is the correct choice.

2. "The guests talked about a lot of topics in the talk show."
This sentence is incorrect. Using "in" suggests that the guests were physically inside the talk show while discussing the topics, which does not make sense in this context. Therefore, the correct preposition to use here is "on."

3. "First speaker, come to the podium, please. And deliver a speech about the topic."
This passage is correct. A "podium" is a raised platform, often made of wood, where a speaker stands while giving a presentation. The term "podium" can be used in this context, even if there is no physical platform. The part where a lecturer puts their textbook while speaking is generally referred to as a lectern or a podium. Both terms can be used interchangeably.

4. "The comedian plays an important role in the TV program."
This sentence is correct. "In" is the correct preposition to use here because we are referring to the comedian's involvement within the TV program.

5. "The comedian plays an important role on the TV program."
This sentence is also correct. Using "on" suggests that the comedian's role is specifically related to the TV program itself. Both "in" and "on" can be used interchangeably in this context.
