The diagram that was given was really confusing. I need help with the following questions:

1)Polar Easterlies in the Northern Hemisphere blow from?
a.)west to east

b.)east to west

c.)north to south

d.)south to north

2) Westerlies in the Northern Hemisphere blow from?
a.)west to east

b.)east to west

c.)north to south

d.)south to north

3) Trade winds in the northern hemisphere blow from?
a.)west to east

b.)east to west

c.)north to south

d.)south to north

4) Polar Easterlies in the southern hemisphere blow from?
a.)west to east

b.)east to west

c.)north to south

d.)south to north

5) Westerlies in the southern hemisphere blow from?
a.)west to east

b.)east to west

c.)north to south

d.)south to north

6) Westerlies in the southern hemisphere blow from?
a.)west to east

b.)east to west

c.)north to south

d.)south to north

7) Trade winds in the southern hemisphere blow from?
a.)west to east

b.)east to west

c.)north to south

d.)south to north

I did and all i get is two different answers....

If you had read your text, you'd see that at least some of these are very obvious.

Which two answers did you get?

I have the diagram and it's very confusing....

Like for the first one it would say west to east and then southern to northern

To answer these questions, we need to understand the general pattern of global wind circulation. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to determine the direction of each wind pattern:

1) Polar Easterlies in the Northern Hemisphere blow from:
- Look at the diagram and locate the polar region in the Northern Hemisphere.
- The polar easterlies are the winds blowing from the polar region towards the lower latitudes.
- In the Northern Hemisphere, the polar easterlies blow from east to west. So the answer is b) east to west.

2) Westerlies in the Northern Hemisphere blow from:
- Again, refer to the diagram and locate the mid-latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere.
- The westerlies are the prevailing winds in the mid-latitudes.
- In the Northern Hemisphere, the westerlies blow from west to east. So the answer is a) west to east.

3) Trade winds in the northern hemisphere blow from:
- Focus on the area between 30 degrees latitude and the equator in the Northern Hemisphere.
- The trade winds are the winds that blow towards the equator from the subtropical high pressure belt.
- In the Northern Hemisphere, the trade winds blow from the northeast to the southwest. So the answer is c) north to south.

4) Polar Easterlies in the southern hemisphere blow from:
- Look at the diagram and locate the polar region in the Southern Hemisphere.
- The polar easterlies are the winds blowing from the polar region towards the lower latitudes.
- In the Southern Hemisphere, the polar easterlies blow from west to east. So the answer is a) west to east.

5) Westerlies in the southern hemisphere blow from:
- Refer to the diagram and locate the mid-latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere.
- The westerlies are the prevailing winds in the mid-latitudes.
- In the Southern Hemisphere, the westerlies blow from east to west. So the answer is b) east to west.

6) Westerlies in the southern hemisphere blow from:
- This is a repetitive question. Please refer to question 5 for the explanation.

7) Trade winds in the southern hemisphere blow from:
- Focus on the area between 30 degrees latitude and the equator in the Southern Hemisphere.
- The trade winds are the winds that blow towards the equator from the subtropical high-pressure belt.
- In the Southern Hemisphere, the trade winds blow from the southeast to the northwest. So the answer is b) east to west.

By following these steps and examining the diagram, you should be able to determine the direction of each wind pattern in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

Google these questions. We will not cheat and give you the answers.
