A florist is making identical bouquets using 72 red roses, 60 pink roses, and 48 yellow roses. What is the greatest number of bouquets that the florist can make if no roses are left over? How many of each color are in each bouquet?

72 , 60 , and 48 are all divisible by 12

ANSWER: In each bouquet there will be 6 red roses, 5 pink roses, ans 4 yellow roses.

All you have to do is:
72/12=6 (seventy-two divided by twelve equals six) 6 red roses
60/12=5 (sixty divided by twelve equals five) 5 pink roses
48/12=4 (forty-eight divided by twelve equals four) 4 yellow roses

(The twelve is from the 12 bouquets the florist can make without any left over).

The greatest number of bouquets are 12. 72, 60, and 48 are all divisible by 12.

72=2x2x2x3x3
60=2x2x3x5
48=2x2x3x4
2x2x 3=12. How? All of the numbers have 2's in the first column, same in the second, and in the 1st row, there is a 3, and in the second and third, there is also a 3. Next, you do, 2x2x3 for the 2's and 3 in the columns I just said. Which equals 12. (The florist can make 12 bouquets with no left over.;)
