2)What does the fact that aliens generally are not allowed to vote show about American beliefs?
It shows that Americans believe that no one should dictate american things if they are not born on american soil

I wrote my answer for number 2. I couldn't figure number 1 out though

i don't understand. My book tells all about why america has a two party system but its not talking about how a minor party helps the major parties

Minor parties have sometimes caused majority parties to take on some of their causes. When a significant number of people want action, expressed by a minority party, it's likely that the majority parties will consider incorporating that in their programs.
