I am practicing my reported speech. The first is in direct speech and the second part I have changed to reported. I would like someone can check

Thanks

How do you deal when the people said corruption in Africa is a black hole and you are putting money in this country?
We have to accept the corruption it is killing more kids than any disease. We have fought against corruption with a transparency agenda and there is a vaccine for corruption and we called it transparency.

Question: He asked him how he dealt when the people had said corruption in Africa was a black hole and he was putting money in that country?
He said that we had to accept the corruption it is killing more kids than any disease. We had fought against corruption with a transparency agenda and there was a vaccine for corruption and we called it transparency.

Reported speech (or an indirect question) does not answer the question. It simply re-states the question in an indirect way. I'll re-do the first one; then you try the second one, and I'll check it for you.

Direct question: How do you deal when the people said corruption in Africa is a black hole and you are putting money in this country?

Indirect (reported) question: She asked how I dealt with the ideas that people believe corruption in Africa is a black hole and yet I am putting money into this country.

Dear tutor

I am reporting an interview between 2 people, so I supposed in the second part (answer to the question)

Indirect (reported) question: He asked him how he dealt with the ideas that people believe corruption in Africa was a black hole and yet he is putting money into this country.

Indirect (reported) answer: He said that we had to accept the corruption it is killing more kids than any disease. We had fought against corruption with a transparency agenda and there was a vaccine for corruption and we called it transparency.

thanks

Indirect (reported) question: He asked him how he dealt with the ideas that people believe corruption in Africa was a black hole and yet he is putting money into this country. <~~Nice job!

Indirect (reported) answer: He said that we had to accept the corruption it is killing more kids than any disease. We had fought against corruption with a transparency agenda and there was a vaccine for corruption and we called it transparency. <~~There's a run-on in there (a place where two sentences are run together instead of being separated by a period and a capital letter); there's also a sentence with three independent clauses. Please revise so that your second reported speech contains 4 or 5 whole sentences.

Indirect (reported) answer: He said that we had to accept the corruption it is killing more kids than any disease ,however, they had fought against corruption with a vaccine and they called it transparency.

thanks

Now you have more run-ons in there!

Comma splices and run-ons are very similar. Learn to spot them and make corrections.

Try this:

He said that we had to accept the corruption which is killing more kids than any disease. He had fought against corruption with a transparency agenda. There was a vaccine for corruption, and he called it transparency.

He said that we had to accept the corruption , is killing more kids than any disease. He had fought against corruption with a transparency agenda. There was a vaccine for corruption, and he called it transparency.

Thanks for your pacience

This is still incorrect: "the corruption , is killing"

I fixed it for you. Why did you change it?

because If I translate the word WHICH it doesn't have sense.

So supposed that.

In that sentence, "which" and "that" mean the same thing. Use either one, but DON'T use just a comma between those main clauses.
