I need help with a Science essay. The question reads:

"Hannah is comparing a rock from a riverbed and a rock from deep underground. One is very smooth, and the other has very rough edges. Explain why each rock was probably found in that location."

In order for me to receive full credit, I need to answer the following questions:

Where was the smooth rock probably found (in a riverbed or deep underground)?

What caused the smooth rock to be so smooth?

Where was the rough-edged rock probably found (in a riverbed or deep underground)?

Why is the rough-edged rock not smooth, too?

I have everything except how the rocks are formed. Can you please help?

The rock found in the riverbed has been smoothed over by the constant passage of water over time which has smoothed out the rock.

The Rock found deep underground has rough edges as it was formed by breaking from a larger rock fragment which formed by the cooling of magma and therefore has jagged edges like crystals(PUT THIS IN YOUR OWN WORDS! UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR TEACHER TO FIND OUT U BEEN USING FORBIDDEN WEBSITES!) lolol

ladywoman XD alright, thanks for looking out!

You're welcome.

How come Trippy's posts aren't here anymore? Were they just too much of a giveaway?

Thnx LadyWoman.(i am not being sarcastic thank you):)

Different kinds of rocks are formed in different ways. Study this site.

Thanks, Ms. Sue! You too, Trippy!

This answer is good, but the text is really small when you go to fill the answer in so I just added some stuff but thank you so much!
