  11. Alright, so, the character reading role is provided in the first lesson of this subject if you're a connexus student.
Pretty much you choose between Discussion Director, Word Watcher, Summarizer, Luminary, and Connector.

If you can't find where it says this (or you're just too lazy to) i'll go ahead and copy it for you.

  15. This was my answer
Sharing what images come to mind as you read would bean idea that is most worthy to share in a literary discussion about The Giver. For example, when the giver was sharing his favorite memory with Jonas, I pictured a family in their house during christmas time having fun opening presents. You could also share any predictions you may have or any new words you have found in the book. One new word that I found in The Giver was ominous which means threatening or foreshadowing evil or tragic developments. Before I came across this word in the book, I did not know what it meant. If I could interview the author of this book, I would ask her, how did she come up with the idea of writing this book, or what inspired her to write about a perfect world, and about a man transmitting memories for thousands of years ago.

  18. Here is something that will help you: A main idea of Johnny Tremain is how he becomes from selfish to not selfish. Say how he makes friends throughout the book that help him be not so selfish and careless. Pick out a reading role listed on Unit 4, lesson 1. It should show the purpose of each of the reading roles and then just say how the reading roles helped you understand the text by listing the purpose. For example, if you chose Connector as your reading role, say, it helped me understand the text better because I was able to relate when I saw one part of the story that was similar to an event that actually happened to me in real life and it kind of helped me answer this Unit's Big Question. Hope this helped!
