Find the unit rate.

$121.50 for working 18 hours

wages = hourly rate x time
121.50 = hourly rate x 18 hours.
Solve for hourly rate.

how do i solve for hourly

wages = hourly rate x time
121.50 = hourly rate x 18 hours.
You want to get hourly rate by itself. So divide both sides by 18.
121.50/18 = hourly rate x 18 hours/18
The 18 hours/18 = 1 on the right side leaving you with
121.50/18 = hourly rate. Your calculator will do the solving for you.
Do you see how I did that. You can add, subtract, multiply or divide (or do other arithmetic functions) to any side as long as you do it to the other side, too. I hope this helps.

Find the UNIT RATE is Maria walks 4428 metres in 12 minutes.

Find the UNIT RATE is Maria walks 4428 metres in 12 minutes.

I don't undrestand how to get the answer for this problem.here is the problem:
I pick up my friends every day(except for monday)and go to the mall.the mall is 10 miles each way,and I fill up my 10-gallon tank every 12 days. What rate of A miles/B gallons

What would be the unit in this rate?
then how would I write a unit rate for this?
360 mi in 6 h.

divide 360 by 6, to get how many miles in 1 hr... this is 60 miles per hour.
A unit rate is just a rate that has one on the denominator (rates can be written as fractions).
Always divide the top by the bottom to get the unit rate.
The unit in this rate is "miles per hour" or "mph". If you paid $2 for a lemon, the unit would be "$ per lemon"!!

is a unit rate written as a fraction? Like 250 miles in 5 hours is 50 or is it a fraction?

Hello, Alexia. I am currently studying Ratios and Proportions. I am sorry I did not come to this conclusion fast enough for you. 250 Miles is divided by 5 which is indeed 50. You divide the numerator by the denominator because it is first term and second term of a ratio, The unit rate however is always one of what it can be. So to check your answers for Unit Rates which I figure to be one of the best.

250 / 5 = 50

50 x 5 = 250 (Check Method)

Hope This Helps!!!

Sincerely, Algebra Learner.

no I don't get how you get the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Explain your self I'm only in 6th grade.

I need help! Ok here's the problem.
Melissa lights 2 candles that are the exact same height at the exact same time. The blue candle takes 6 hours to burn completely. The purple candle takes 9 hours to burn completely. After how many hours will the slower burning candle be twice the height of the faster candle? How tall were the candles originally?
Please help. I'm in 7th grade and normally a very good math student but these are really hard. PLEASE RESPOND QUICKLY! I need this by tomorrow!!!

hi I think you need to add more problems we can check and actually do to see if we can solve them.. Thanks for the help though...

i don't get how to do it?

what is a unit rate

travel 250 mi in 5 h

i don't get unit rates. They are so hard.

what is the unit rate of $60 for 8h

I basiclly would like to say, that
a UNIT RATE is a rate that has a denominator of 1, like gas mileage, speed ( mph ), and until costs.

A RATE is a ratio that compares quantities in different units.

UNITS are the specific degrees in which certain forces or measurments are measured in. ( Like inches, miles, ect.)

RATIO is a comparison of 2 quantities by division. ( 10 to 15, 10:15, 10/15 - either or, you always read ratios like this " ten to fifteen )

As for Jenny's question...
True, 78 miles on 3 gallons would be a unit rate of 26 GALLONS. You know why? Because division is the same as writing a fraction. ( 78/3, means you're dividing 78 by 3 gallons, and your denominator is ALWAYS THE UNIT OF THE ANSWER.

i need help with this one i don't get it is says find the unit rate for each rate heres the problem $54 for 18 h. i don't noe how to do the problem!
