A plane with a mass of 4.50 x 10^3 kg accelerates on takeoff at 10.0 m/s2. What is the net force acting on the plane?

gravity is acting downwards: mg

force acceleration-friction=mass*10

Now I am not certain what it means "on takeoff". If that means the instant the wheels clear the ground, then the net force is only the engines-friction, the last of the two I listed above. At that instant, lift is exactly opposite in direction to gravity, and the only forces left are engines-takeoff.
